March, 2016 – San Diego, Del Mar, La Jolla, Encinitas

Robbie Hendricks San Diego

Full Disclosure:  San Diego, and specifically Del Mar/La Jolla, is probably one of my favorite places in the world.  I fully intend on doing home base 2.0 somewhere in this area.  From local hiking at Torrey Pines, to glorious fish tacos, to abundant surf, there really isn’t much wrong with San Diego.

Not to mention, it is Ron Burgundy’s stomping ground.

I did, however, on this trip have my first experience on Coronado Island, which was absolutely fantastic.  It is definitely a cute little tourist town, with an abundance of restaurants, craft beer, and ocean views.  Beyond that, as always, my time in Del Mar was a dream.

Quick hitters on San Diego (and surrounding areas):

Must-Do Beer:  Ballast Point

Must-Do Coffee:  Better Buzz (Encinitas)

Must-Do Brekkie:  Americana (Del Mar)

Must-Do Appetizer:  BBQ Brussel Sprouts (I’m not kidding, do it) at Leroy’s Kitchen and Lounge (Coronado)
