March, 2014 – Orlando, Florida

Had a nice 5 day getaway to Orlando to conclude March.  Was actually my first time there since I was a kid @ Disney, so it was nice to able to enjoy “adulthood” there.   The highlight was probably Johnnie’s Hideaway, a delicious restaurant that was both relaxed and super high quality.  We had the Madagascar shrimp, and I highly recommend.  They are the size of lobster, and are absolutely delicious.   We stayed at the Gaylord Palms, and if you are around the area, check it out – it was wonderful.

Also got to spend some time chatting business with my girlfriend’s family, as they are entrepreneurs that have been very successful.  Spending time with other entrepreneurs is so inspiring for me.  Their success has come in the chemical industry, and just reminds you that there are so, so many ways to create success in this world (but you gotta pick one…jack of all trades, master of nothing doesn’t work.)

Anyway, Orlando itself is just alright (not to offend you Orlandians).  No ocean just makes it marginally better than other places, and it’s super kid/family oriented as Disney is there.  If I had a bunch of kiddos it would be perfect, but I’ll head back to Naples if I want a relaxed Florida trip (or Miami if I want a…rowdy trip.)
