Today’s excursion took us to the beautiful mountains and hills on the island of Sicily, home to the famous Mt. Etna. I’d never claimed a volcano before, and it was quite an experience. Trudging up the hardened lava intense. It didn’t look nearly as challenging as it ended up being, and I was gassed after the trip up. Fortunately, we went to a delicious Sicilian vineyard afterwards to hydrate with some local wine. It was a stunning evening, and a fitting end to an exciting day. Nothing like savoring the local wines of Sicily, watching the sun set over Mt. Etna in the distance.
