The 6th Annual January Escape to Cabo San Lucas went on as scheduled, and was glorious per the usual – despite the first rains I’ve ever experienced in Cabo San Lucas.
Enjoyed our suite at Sirena Del Mar, enjoyed tacos at Asi y Asado, enjoyed our standard breakfast at The Cape, enjoyed glorious beaches at Chileno Bay, and of course enjoyed our dinners at Hacienda, Toro, and the other stalwarts.
Cabo has really become a place of refuge for myself, my wife, and our family. It has the conveniences of California, but the speed of Mexico. Very comfortable, very relaxing, and delicious food everywhere.
This trip to Cabo San Lucas also included an intense whale watching experience on – thankfully – a very large ship. I say thankfully because we obviously chose to do our whale watching day on the first storm day I’ve ever experienced in Cabo San Lucas. It was absurd. 10 foot waves. Little boats were capsizing. It was madness. The best news? We found some unbelievable whales that were jumping together, and the only reason we were able to enjoy them is because we chose a larger ship for our adventure.
Anyway – Cabo San Lucas is always a winner. To anyone reading this who has never visited, it really should be on your agenda. It’s not a cheap place to visit, though there are plenty of local spots where the dollar really goes a long way. Just do your research!
