Took a quick 4 day cruise to the Bahamas out of Miami. Though I am not a huge fan of big cruise lines (this was Royal Caribbean, my favorite of the bunch), we had a group of maybe 20 friends, so it’s impossible to screw that up. Great times playing frisbee, jet skiing, eating, and relaxing.
China was an incredible 2 week experience. Visited the Terra Cotta warriors, the Great Wall, and many other famous spots. Had some absolutely legit food in the inner city area of Beijing, picked up some jade, and just enjoyed seeing something entirely different than Ohio. Loved traveling with a group of friends and seeing all the great sights together. My main advice that I learned on Day 1: Don’t get into a taxi that is not in the line of taxis. I got into a random taxi and thought I was going to be kidnapped. Ended up paying $100 for a 10 minute taxi ride. At least I survived to tell the tale.
Another combo biz/fun trip to Jacksonville, Florida. I love biz/fun trips. Had a great business engagement, but spent the rest of the trip enjoying great food, frisbee, beach time, and relaxation. Was my first time to Jacksonville, and really enjoyed it. Had a great time with my friend Steven Clement, he’s a good man! Check out his blog, www.stevenclement.com.
However, I needed to get this into the archives because it was such a beautiful trip, and one that I really do recommend people get a chance to see. For those of us in the Midwest, sometimes we forget that there are so many beautiful things located right here in the “Good Old US of A”, and Yosemite is one of them. Pristinely protected, with gigantic redwoods, wildlife, and enough hiking trails to satisfy even the most seasoned veteran. Get there, if you haven’t.
The Louvre. The Eiffel Tower. Monte Carlo. Cannes Film Festival.
Pretty wonderful trip to France/Monaco back in 2011. Had never posted a photo collage from it, but figured I would take some time to do it. I loved this trip. Didn’t love French food nearly as much as I’d hoped, but the history is so overwhelming, I couldn’t get enough of it.
The French countryside on the train from Paris to St. Tropez was beautiful. The crepes were delicious. The friendship was amazing. Cannot wait to go back and enjoy it again.
Also, I found my modern pirate ship.
