Had way too much fun celebrating my good friend Alphonse’s wedding. Congrats to both you and Amanda! And excited to welcome Alexis to the world. Little Al will be a great big brother! We enjoyed a fantastic time at a traditional New Orleans wedding, complete with a jazz band marching us down the street post ceremony. Of course, we also enjoyed some Grenades on Bourbon St. and many, many delicious boiled crawfish.
Took a beautiful surprise trip to Naples to celebrate the engagement of my best friend Aaron Pitman. I was blessed to be the Best Man in this wedding, so I was charged with the task of creating an elaborate, ridiculous, too-hot-for-social-media type event. I feel like I succeeded, because the only pictures I can post on here are the ones from our dinners 🙂 It wasn’t that rowdy, and we were so happy for Aaron. He is a good man, and I love him like a brother.
China was an incredible 2 week experience. Visited the Terra Cotta warriors, the Great Wall, and many other famous spots. Had some absolutely legit food in the inner city area of Beijing, picked up some jade, and just enjoyed seeing something entirely different than Ohio. Loved traveling with a group of friends and seeing all the great sights together. My main advice that I learned on Day 1: Don’t get into a taxi that is not in the line of taxis. I got into a random taxi and thought I was going to be kidnapped. Ended up paying $100 for a 10 minute taxi ride. At least I survived to tell the tale.
Another combo biz/fun trip to Jacksonville, Florida. I love biz/fun trips. Had a great business engagement, but spent the rest of the trip enjoying great food, frisbee, beach time, and relaxation. Was my first time to Jacksonville, and really enjoyed it. Had a great time with my friend Steven Clement, he’s a good man! Check out his blog, www.stevenclement.com.
